Fresh Sounds... New Music

So I was actually looking for a video on YouTube for pin up hair styles and I came across a video that had a soundtrack, that took my focus literally off my hair and made me take a look at MY soul. Seriously.

The title of the song was "Love Me So Naturally" and the words spoke directly to me. This is day 2 of my listening to her album, even considering purchasing it (support her music). This artist is talented and just all around awesome.

Her name is Alicia James...

Her sultry voice and words are what our black women need to hear. The appreciation of our natural beauty, our skin, our curves and our unique features that women from other races, wish and (pay) to have. I would say she is the modern day India Aire because of her lyrics but her upbeat rhythms is what makes it more modern (to me). I have it repeat/playback, I have mentioned her on Facebook and Twitter but I felt that wasn't enough. So I am dedicating this entry to her music, her lyrics, her voice, her soul and her inspiration. Love it!

Deferred of a Dream. Since I was a little girl, I always imagine how I wanted my life to go. For instance, if I liked a Lil boy, I would imagine being with him and make up stories ( that I only I knew) about me and him. But not just with guys, but friends, new schools, new opportunities. Not being crazy, but just had a vivid imagination. ( or only child syndrome ) Anytime my life wasn't going as planned, I, in my mind, created and imagine a new life sometimes for better and sometimes not so better. Feeling empty inside. It's like I don't know what to feel. I am dedicating this entry to the 2 people who have hurt me the most over the past weeks: Mike & Mic Friendship and relationships. If you knew in the future that one decision would change your life or another person's life forever, would you stop and double think on it's worth?
