My Love Pieces

  I used to know my angles when posing to have that "picture perfect" smile... especially since I had gotten my braces off- just in time for the most important pictures of a child's life- SENIOR PHOTOS! But as I have gotten older and my face a little fatter- teeth shifting a little, I have lost my angles in picture perfect world lol no seriously. I remember spending at least 15-30 minutes a day in the mirror practicing the smile for my pictures before senior picture day and I had the perfect smile in my opinion.   I say this to say I don't smile like I used too. The younger me would smile all the time... so much that random people would ask me "why you smile so much?" And I never had an answer. If I could go back to that/those days " I would reply "because I want too." Or "Well. would you rather a middle finger and frown?" Or simply "Because I can!" and flip my hair as I joyously walk away.   I need to get back my smile

This nail polish is something that I must try before 2011! Its formulated from CND and is guranteed to last for at least 14 days before chipping and peeling. It is supposed to make nails harder and healthier and have a mirror finish and quick dry!! (However, I used the technique of waiting for my nails to dry as working on my patience...oh well) The only thing is all nail salons don't have the product- it was just released in May of 2010- so call your favorite nail salon and ask if they have it and get ready to dish out about $20 for a manicure. If you ask me what was so special about the year 2010, I just might burst into Tears. I learned so much about..... myself I discovered emotions and feelings that I knew I had, but had to learn how to express them. I learned the Art of Forgiveness WOW Is all I can say. I can honestly say, its time for me to make some serious moves. 2010 flew by but it didn't stop without shitting on me. I can definitely say that I had no idea what was in store this year and I have matured and grew so much through little life's lessons. I have found like, and lost friends, gain new friends, and rekindled old friendships all while learning to be  Patient . I guess its all about living... Dedicated to Kenya and Sue Since I was 8, I loved hair. I got 2 dolls -One named Kenya and the other was Sue and her Salon, the black doll (I got her on Christmas, can't remember when I got Kenya) and learned how to comb, brush, plat, put their hair in a ponytail and braid. They were literally my dummy heads. See unlike my hair at that time, their hair was black and straight, mine was black and nappy. And I wanted hair likes theirs. I begged and pleaded my mom to perm my hair at the age of 10 (I still remember the night she did it WRONG in the kitchen... I swear mothers... smh) and now at the lovely age of 23 I am back to black and nappy hair! It was hard giving up my dolls, oh wait, I still have them. But I attempted to give them up and thought, naaaa I'm going to need that hair one day (and I just couldn't part ways with my first clients).

Am I wrong for liking Keri Hilson's new song? "The Way That You Love Me" Are you kidding me?!!!!! The song is hot, the video is hotter! I love this alternate side of Keri Hilson! I loved the video! Straight sexy!!! I wasn't appalled or anything. I can honestly see myself singing this to my boo when we in the mood or not! C'mon like you can't too! Like honestly, Lil Kim, Trina and Rasheeda- the other female rappers, rapped about sex all the time (and I am sure Nicki Minaj would too, if her booty wasn't so inflated and guys already look at her as a sex symbol anyways. she just has to stand there and guys wanna throw their boxers on stage!) and the lyrics, were just as awful and to raunchy. I honestly hated listening to them rap about it. But, ok yeah, Keri uses the F word in the chorus and the P word, and is really outrageously sexy in her video, but in a sense it still works. I don't know why these women and girls acting like Keri is all so goody go

Today is World AIDS Day . For many years, this has been the hush hush virus. The thing no one wants to talk about. That is shun done upon and looked as the "homo" virus or the "whore" virus. But in actuality, it is none of that. Straight people have caught it. First timers have caught it. Even people who had never had sex have gotten the disease; through needles.         I was a Peer Educator at Savannah State University, and that experience taught me a lot. I learned about all kinds of diseases that I didn't know ever existed and most importantly I learned about HIV and AIDS. I don't want to break it down and give a lesson. But I do want to say that it is out there. And just like a bullet has no name, HIV and AIDS has no name either.  As a young black female, it is scary knowing that blacks are accounted for 14% of the USA population and carry 50% of the accounted AIDS cases. The stats 1 out 16 males carry the virus and then 1 out 32 women carry the virus.
