I love Bey but...
I love Beyonce's music and I believe she is a great entertainer but when it comes to being a true creative person, she needs to work. The way she puts her spin on music, clothes entertainment is awesome, but I think she needs new producers or a new team because this biting is getting out of control . It seems like all of her hit songs were either sampled from someone else's (not so) hit and she took them, put the "Beyonce Official" stamp on it and blows up off them. We all hear of the lawsuits of plagiarism and brush them because they are againist Beyonce and we say "Naaa. It's not true."
Here are a few similarities that I have found and I am sure there are more.
#11 Major Lazer - Pon De Floor (uploaded in 2009 on Youtube) -- Currently the beat to Beyonce- Who Run the World - Bey and the producers have agreed to share the rights.
In this case- it is obvious that Bey's "creative team" used the same people that Lorella used to create a memorable performance for the 2011 Billboard Awards with this particular "PowerPoint presentation" as someone on Twitter called it, where as even in the side by side comparison- there are similarities. Bey's is better- I guess the team had more time to be creative.
Can you guess which song this was later turned into a hit by Destiny Child?
Basically, Bey did a lot of prominent sampling and has done and been doing and will continue to do. I don't disagree with sampling because that's what a lot of artist are doing such as Twista in "Slow Jamz" with Jamie Foxx and Kanye but his sampling was a creative. He sped the tempo up, so that it sounded different. Not sure if he had the rights for the sample may be the reason, however, it was a creative touch.
Overall, Bey is good at what she does whatever you want to call it- I just think she should be a little more creative, the fans are getting smarter and want something new and fresher, not recycled.
